More from those Israeli police

Two stories I heard today. A man was arrested at a protest. The police hung him by handcuffs, threw questions at him, and slapped him in the face if he didn't answer. They then threatened to bring in a screen and play dirty videos. He said he'd kill himself if they did that. So they through him in solitary confinement for two weeks. I know a guy who knows the guy.

Another story, bochur is arrested for avoiding the draft. They took him in for 'interrogation', which you realize is some form of torture. The interrogator held up a hammer and asked which finger he should break, holding the hammer above each finger. The interrogator then squeezed the bochur's nose severely. I know this bochur.

All of this comes with being denied food, water, bathroom, being woken up in the middle of the night. 

Both of these happened this week. 

This is the state of Israel, the place that is supposed to be a safe haven for Jews.

You hear about these Anglo-communities and you expect Teaneck or Far Rockaway in Israel. Now, wouldn't that mean that the shuls have books in English. Well they don't have that here, even in Anglo shuls where shiurim and announcements are in English. That's even in so-called Anglo communities. Here's what you see on the bookshelves. So unless you can open a book in Hebrew and translate, your Shabbos days will not be very interesting.  This Anglo community thing is a myth. In both of the shuls shown above, I donated books in English, but they were removed from the shelves and don't appear anywhere in the building.  I'm not even sure how to explain this. Why wouldn't an Anglo synagogue want English books? Obviously, gadolim don't disapprove of Torah books in English. It’s All About Power and Stuff

The aliyah salesman always starts by claiming that moving to Israel in our times is a mitzvah, even though it isn’t in the way he implies, because he is trying to strong-arm you. That’s how Zionists are. They are all about power and force. That’s what excites most of them about the state of Israel, that it has a Jewish army, even though it’s an army of non-practicing Jews (and Russian gentiles) who rely on American weaponry. He drools at its power (or the appearance of it). His desire that you move to Israel is not because he wants to see you fulfil a mitzvah. Stay where you are Remember when they told you -- over and over -- that the government of Israel cares so much for every Jewish life that they'll trade 1,000 terrorists for 1 soldier or even the corpse of one soldier? Then came October 7 and it's aftermath. 337 soldiers killed. That's more than all of the hostages of which the IDF has managed to rescue 7.
