Zionism started with heretics who desired to toss away Torah observance. They sought to enter gentile European society as gentiles but were rebuffed. As a result, they became consumed with fury over anti-Semitism. They created their own state in order to be like gentiles. Rather than stay with G-d and to see anti-Semitism as His instrument in keeping them Jewish, they viewed anti-Semitism as a kind of independent force, a false god, a kind of Zoroastrian (two-sided god) devil that operated on its own.
The Mizrachi came along and deemed this state that was founded in heresy as a sign of redemption and ordered all Jews to move to it. This trapped many good Jews into the net that was sown originally by heretics.
