Nobody else would think of that. Even Russia doesn’t have a woman prime minister. And so because the Jews are a dangerous people, it’s a dangerous tool created for a specific purpose. And therefore they need a fiery Torah. Fire is a great tool but it has to be kept within bounds. And therefore he gave them a Torah of fire. And now you have a fiery nation ascending this scaffold to be burned in fire for the sake of the Torah, and Jews suffer fires of ordeals for the sake of the Torah. Jews give up jobs, Jews give up careers for the sake of the Torah. Men and women sacrifice. Kollel wives endure poverty so that their husbands will continue to learn… That’s a fiery ordeal, but they do it with love because they have a fiery love for the Torah, with Hashem in their hearts. And because they are a fiery nation, He gave them this fiery Torah.

Israel is run by non-religious Jews. They are the heads of the government, military, banks, universities, media, corporations, and health establishment. When chilonim complain about Haredi power, they are talking only about political influence via the voting block to limit somewhat chillul Shabbos even though the Dati Leumi have a hand in that too. But it's more fun (and anti-semitic) to disparage Haredim, who in fact, are a minority in Israel (15% of the population) and have a far lower income, and have very little power in the society. Choloni complaints about Haredi power are ridiculous. Cholonim have the power here.

You hear about these Anglo-communities and you expect Teaneck or Far Rockaway in Israel. Now, wouldn't that mean that the shuls have books in English. Well they don't have that here, even in Anglo shuls where shiurim and announcements are in English. That's even in so-called Anglo communities. Here's what you see on the bookshelves. So unless you can open a book in Hebrew and translate, your Shabbos days will not be very interesting.  This Anglo community thing is a myth. In both of the shuls shown above, I donated books in English, but they were removed from the shelves and don't appear anywhere in the building.  I'm not even sure how to explain this. Why wouldn't an Anglo synagogue want English books? Obviously, gadolim don't disapprove of Torah books in English. That’s how Zionists are. They are all about power and force.
