Wanna buy a car?

Prices are way higher in Israel. Here's a car for sale in SSOI.

In US dollars.

$8,500 for a car that's 12 years old.

Given the information in the ad, here's what that car would cost in the USA.

So it's nearly twice the price. $4,810 in the USA. $8,500 in Israel where salaries are half that of the USA and salaries for olim are oftentimes 1/4 that of the USA.

Here's some more.

The Infiniti that goes for 78,450 NIS ($21,391.87) in SSOI is $11,006 in America.

And for gasoline to fuel it it's also twice the price:

Israel doesn't even make the list. Gas in the USA is .83 cents a liter.

In SSOI it's $1.93, which is more than twice the price.

Americans spend an average of $2,148 on gas each year. So figure the Israelis spend an average of $4,000 each year. So the car cost you $4,000 more, but you are spending also $2,000 more each year on gas. Over 10 years that's $25,000 for the car and the gas. And you know repairs are more expensive too.

I heard recently a teenager say to an oleh parent. "We are poor." "Why do you say that?" "Because we don't have a car"

Is that how you want your child to think of you. Will that generate respect to follow your lead in life?
