Ofer Cassif (Hebrew: עֹופֶר כַּסִיף, born 25 December 1964)[1] is an Israeli politician who has represented Hadash in the Knesset since April 2019. Domestic media sources have referred to him as "far-left".[2] He provoked domestic controversy in 2024 for his acceptance of the legitimacy of charges of genocide made against the current Government of Israel before the International Court of Justice.[3][4][5][6] This led to a six-month suspension from the Knesset on 7 November 2024,[7] one of the most severe parliamentary sanctions imposed in recent years.[8]
Suspended for having an opinion? That's not democracy. Whatever your opinion about the conflict with Gaza, you should be able to deliver it, especially in the government legislative house.
