That's $675,030 for a two bedroom apartment forty minutes from Jerusalem and 1 hour from Tel-Aviv.
In Passaic, NJ you can get a 2 bedroom apartment for $245,000
I don't know the square footage but I have been in apartments in this building and been in apartments like the one in the Israeli ad shown above and can tell you that the apartment in Passaic is much bigger and in much better condition. You won't get a doorman in the apartment in Israel. There will be no lobby where guests can sit.
Or in a different door manned building you can get a 2 bedroom for $365,000.
And best of all, jobs in New York or Northern New Jersey will pay you 2-3x the salary of that in Israel if you speak Hebrew. If you don't the NY job will pay 4x as much.
Or for $169,000 you can buy a three-bedroom 2,020 square foot house in Oak Park, Michigan.
Now for those who want to give guilt trips about goshmiyus, the house in Oak Park is hardly luxury. But it will give space so that the children are not on top of one another, the father has a room for Torah study without distraction, and the mother has counter space for her projects. Bilaam praised the Jews for privacy between tents. I would think that this also applies to the people living in the tent.
Or look at it this way. The American lives in a $169,000 residence. The Oleh lives in a $675,030 residence. Who is the materialistic one?
