double the waiting time

I know a man who is having serious problems with his feet. He can barely walk now. He went to the local doctor in Israel who prescribed several tests for which there was a one month wait. The results caused the doctor to say that he should see a neurologist. That's a two month wait. 

The wait in the USA for a neurologist is 34 days, half that of Israel. A study was done on this.

For the study, researchers looked at two years of Medicare data to identify 163,313 people who were referred by a physician to see a neurologist. Participants had an average age of 74. Participants were referred by 84,975 physicians to 10,250 neurologists across the United States.

For each participant, researchers calculated the time between the physician referral and their first visit with a neurologist. Researchers found the average wait time to see a neurologist was 34 days, with 18% of people waiting longer than 90 days. Researchers found no difference in wait times across race, ethnicity and sex. When compared to people seeing a neurologist for back pain with an average wait of 30 days, people with multiple sclerosis (MS) had an average wait that was 29 days longer, people with epilepsy had an average wait 10 days longer and people with Parkinson’s disease, nine days longer.

So it's more than double the waiting time. I say more than double because the tests also take longer in Israel.

So you know, the lying liars at Nefesh b'Nefesh who portray the Israeli medical system as being equal but free are lying to you. It's not equal and it's also not free. We have a monthly pay and can get billed $300 for an emergency room visit, $800 for surgery, etc.

Why do they lie? I'm not sure. Is it anything for the cause? Is it that the organization needs numbers to get funding? Is it the brainwashing they have received their whole lives that Israel is some kind of paradise because either it's the beginning of the redemption or it's run by Jews so it must be wonderful? Could be all of that. But you need to know the reality. And you need to know that when you are dealing with aliyah evangilists, you are not dealing with people who live in reality and not dealing with people of integrity.
