How far? Far.

You want to see how far from Torah values this country is? Look at this headline from Haaretz:

The Gaza war advanced Israeli women's role in combat. The Haredi draft threatens it.

Here's the start of the article:

A new IDF directive expanding gender segregated units has raised concern that drafting ultra-Orthodox men could trigger a rollback of women's roles in the army

Since the October 7 attacks, as stories emerged of women soldiers fighting terrorists with remarkable courage, even conservative commentators couldn't help but admit that women should serve in combat regardless of their sex.

This shift in public opinion following the Hamas attacks and the ensuing Gaza war is not a matter of course but the result of decades of struggle by women and gender equality activists.

Today, more than 80 percent of all positions in the Israel Defense Forces are open to women, and according to the IDF, one in every five fighters is female. In November 2024, the first woman was accepted into the ground forces' most elite unit, Sayeret Matkal.

But women's rights advocates are worried that drafting Haredi men into the army could lead to a regressive rollback in the presence of women in the ranks. While legislation to draft Haredim remains highly controversial under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right government, the IDF is already preparing to absorb thousands of ultra-Orthodox soldiers.

This week, the IDF issued a directive outlining paths for ultra-Orthodox recruits that would allow them to maintain their religious lifestyle while serving in the military....

You can continue reading on Haaretz if you want to ruin your day. Not only are they obsessed with the military, not only do they want women to be in the military, but they want them in combat roles. And of course Haredim are to blame if there's any lessening of turning women into men. Haredim are to blame for everything here.

How obsessed with the military are people in Israel? Even the far left is gaga over it.

There's your so-called Jewish state. If you have any ahavas Yisrael, if you have any ahavas HaShem, if you have any ahavas HaTorah, can you possibly be gaga over the secular state of Israel?

Here's what the Torah has to say:

Devarim 22,5:

“A man’s vestment shall not be on a woman and a man shall not wear a woman’s vestment.”

Masechet Nazir (59a):

"Rabbi Eliezer ben Ya’akov says: From where is it derived that a woman may not go out with weapons to war? The verse states: “A woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, and a man shall not put on a woman’s garment,” which indicates that a man may not adorn himself with the cosmetics and ornaments of a woman, and similarly a woman may not go out with weapons to war, as those are for the use of males."

Women should not be wearing men's clothing, should not carry weapons, and should not go out to battle. Thus, says God.

Now how about that gender separation that the army is promising Haredim. Ms. Weidenbach continues:

----

In November 2024, I visited a base in the Gaza border area, where a unit of the co-ed Caracal battalion is stationed. The women combat soldiers operate tanks that patrol the border. One told me that many of the rules separating men and women during training have been abolished since the war started, out of necessity, to ensure there are enough commanders for the war effort.

"Having two of everything is not very efficient," the 22-year-old soldier told me. Before the war, women stayed in separate rooms and trained on separate fields, but since October 7, she said, women and men have stayed together for the whole training course, performing the same tasks.

When I asked her if she was worried that these changes would be rolled back after the war, she was confident that it wouldn't happen. The presence of women in the army will remain strong, she argued, and women will still outnumber.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

So not only do they want to see women go into battle, not only do the want to draft Haredim but the promises to Haredim that their sons will not sit in tanks with pretty Jewish women will not be kept.

And what's the excuse that they give, it's they are fighting this terrible enemy and the existence of the state is at stake. This enemy has no tanks, no airplanes, no satellites, no submarines, no navy, no armor carried vehicles, none of the tools of modern warfare. They are more like a gang in East LA. Two years ago some of them, wearing Adidas sports apparel, walked through a flimsy fence that wasn't being watched. Thus, the whole nation needs to go to war to fight them and we even need to violate the Torah to do it.

That's the excuse that they gave. What's really going on? HaRav Moshe Sternbuch explains:

---

First of all, we have to realize a simple fact about the army in the State of Israel: it is not only a fighting army, like other armies around the world, but its fundamental purpose is drawing young people away from religion and educating and accustoming them to ‘unburden’ them from the yoke of Torah. (Weekly Divrei Torah, Parshas Korach 5783)

-------------------------------------------------------

Thus, should you really be so happy, happy, happy about the formation of the secular state where militarism dominates the society and where the government and most of its citizens want to draft every person into the army and indoctrinate them into goyish militarism in a terrifyingly oppressive environment? Should you move your daughters here?

I'll answer for you, "No way José."

Any rabbi who tells you otherwise isn't a rabbi. Any man who professes to being a rabbi and pushes you to move to Israel isn't a man. What he is I won't write out in words.
